Job Description:
Duties:
Prepares conventional maps, graphs, and illustrations using traditional cartographic methods or automated systems. Digitizes to convert data into GIS databases, produces plotted maps using systems and software such as ARC/INFO and ARCVIEW.
Collects, appraises, and selects source materials and other data for map construction. Source material and data come from a wide variety of places. You will translate field data into both maps and documents to create presentation maps.
Will orient and outline map features and details from photographic materials, requiring selected and identification of control points, computing angles, preparing template lay downs, assembling prints for mosaics.
Final products include road and rights-of-way venter line information. Uses standard procedures to extract information from field notes to prepare various graphic materials to be converted to graphic presentation.
