Facebook has heard loud and clear that a little financial support goes a long way, especially in communities like the Prineville area that have been hard-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. For many small businesses, this can make a big difference, and that’s why Facebook is announcing a $40 million grant program specifically for small businesses in the United States that will help business owners across the country. Facebook is also placing a special emphasis on outreach to and investment in eligible minority and women-owned businesses due to the disproportionate negative impact that COVID-19 will have on these businesses, their employees, and the communities that they serve.
Starting today – businesses can go to facebook.com/grantsforbusiness, or reference the attached document, to see whether they are eligible, and for more details about the program.
Facebook will be distributing $175,000 to businesses right here in Prineville’s own backyard, focusing where they have offices and data centers.
The Facebook Small Business Grants Program will provide cash grants and ad credits to help:
- Keep a workforce strong
- Manage rent costs
- Connect with more customers
- Cover operational costs
To be eligible to apply, businesses must be located in or near Prineville and should meet the following additional criteria:
- Have between 2 and 50 employees
- Have been in business for at least one year
- Have experienced challenges from COVID-19
- Be in or near a Facebook location
Small businesses — the people they hire and the products and services they provide — are the backbone of our economy. That’s true during the best of times, and even more so during these challenging times. To learn more about this program and other efforts to support small businesses, please see a post from FaceBook COO Sheryl Sandberg.
That’s why Facebook is committed to supporting Prineville businesses that are a part of our communities.
Applications are live as of April 22. Facebook is proud to partner with Ureeka to administer the application process – a technology platform that connects entrepreneurs to the community and capital they need to grow and scale. Learn more here.
